Volunteers

Our group of volunteers consists of 12 individuals who range from our Chief and fire fighters trained in Structure and Wildland fire suppression as well as Vehicle Extraction capabilities to some just starting training.

If you want to be a member of this group, the Haines Fire Department is always looking for volunteers who live within the Haines Fire Protection District or close by within a 10 minute drive.  The department trains to a minimum of FF 1 for Structure and FF 2 for Wildland designations.  Other training is needed for Hazmat and Vehicle Extraction.  The fire department through the Haines Fire Protection District will pay for your training that will be taught to NFPA and NWCG standards.  When you volunteer, you are required to do all the drills that are twice per month as well as some additional drills which are required to keep up the hours needed for certifications. Some training will be done on line as well as in house and away at other departments.  Those of us who volunteer do so because we live here and take pride in helping folks within Baker County In their times of need. To volunteer for the Haines Fire Protection District please contact Chief Jerry Hampton at 541-519-4816
